Thanks for the great turn out and productive discussions at the Town Hall meeting. As stated at the meeting, offerings are down 17% from last year, which is equal to about $10,000 a month. We are keeping close watch on our spending, but this has led us to decide that it will be prudent to consider moving forward transitioning to a solo pastor at POP. Please continue to pray for Prince of Peace and the transition team during this time. |

Do you like to Embroider?Prince of Peace will celebrate its 65th anniversary next year, 2025. Jenny Wroge of the PoP Quilters has volunteered to coordinate a quilted wall hanging to commemorate this milestone. To the right is a sample of one made for another church on their 75th anniversary. We are looking for any church member who likes to embroider who would like to make a square to be included in the quilt. We will provide the fabric square and a printed pattern, or you are welcome to create your own design of something you feel would be meaningful. The embroidered squares should be completed sometime in early 2025 so that they can be included in the quilt. Please contact Jenne Wroge at 952-737-7859 if you are interested in participating in this project. |
Quilters Group Update:The Prince of Peace quilters will be back in the Welcome Center sewing and tying quilts starting Wednesday, September 4th. We will meet from 9am to noon on the first, third (and when applicable fifth) Wednesdays of the month, September through May. We can always use an extra hand to help pin or “tie” the quilts with yarn-sewing kits are not required. We break midway through each session to enjoy a snack and friendly conversation. If you are unable to make it to our Wednesday morning sessions but would like to sew at home, we will be happy to provide fabric and/or cut quilt squares for you to sew. We donate finished quilts to many different worthy organizations, providing warmth and comfort to those in need. If you’re interested in more information, contact Jo Anderle or Carolyn Parker. |
