FOOD PACKING EVENT MAY 1st: At Second Harvest Heartland @ 7101 Winnetka Ave N.We invite you to join with other Prince of Peace volunteers to pack food at Second Harvest Heartland in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday, May 1 from 6PM – 8PM. This is a fun event for friends and families to do together and great timing for students (8 years and older) who need volunteer credits before the end of the school year. Sign-up at the Welcome Center kiosk or click HERE.
Highway 81 Clean Up Event- Sunday May 5thOn Sunday, May 5th right after the 9:30am service, we will be cleaning up the stretch of Highway 81 around Prince of Peace. SO please mark your calendar, round up the whole family, rollup your sleeves and wear your jeans to church that day so you can help us out.Reflective vests, garbage bags and a handful of trash grabbers will be provided. Please bring your own gloves and trash grabber if you have one. Sign up sheet is on the kiosk.Pentecost Potluck Time on May 19th @ 10:30amJoin us for this, a fabulous Pentecost food extravaganza! CEAP logo newClothing Drive On Now thru May 19thDoing your spring cleaning? Going through closets? CEAP is looking for gently used clothing & shoes in good condition to stock their thrift store. The Turning Leaf Thrift store at CEAP turns around & sells these items at affordable pricing. 100% of the proceeds go to support CEAP’s programs such as the Food Markets, Meals on Wheels and more.CEAP is particularly looking for professional workwear, children’s clothing and out of season warm winter items (which sell all year around). But really any item of clothing is okay to donate. Drop off your gently used clothing & shoes and deposit it into the CEAP bin at church now thru May 19th.

WE are asking you for Target gift card donations this year so that we can help honor their great achievements.Maybe you already have a gift card, or two on hand, or if you need to purchase one, that would be amazing.Please put the gift card(s) in an envelope and label it Outreach/Avenues gift. There is a mailbox in the church office where your donation can be dropped off. W would need these by Friday, May 24th. Thanks in advance, for sharing, caring and supporting these Brooklyn Avenues graduates.PLANT SALE IS HERE!* If you are someone who participated in the Plant Sale, just a reminder that plants will be available for pick-up on Saturday, May 11th from 9-12. WE will be in the CLC.* If you have not yet purchased plants, wewill have extras available on Sunday, May 12th both before and after the 9:30 worship.* Some of our plants that are left over (after Sunday, May 19th) will be used by the Garden Team to once again beautify the church gardens. If you would like to offset the cost of those plants please talk to Kate on Sunday the 19th.Park Brook 5th Grade Graduation – June 5thPark Brook Elementary is looking for volunteers to help with the 5th grade Graduation Breakfast & Commencement on Wednesday, June 5th.8:15am – 10am: 5 volunteers needed to set up & serve breakfast to the 5th graders & their teachers1:30pm – 3:30pm: 6 volunteers needed to serve cake & refreshments at CommencementSign up sheets will be available on the kiosk (Welcome Center) after May 1st.
Women’s Bible StudyWomen’s Bible Study meets every first Wednesday of the month. For this month the date is May 1st at 2pm. If you have questions or are interested in joining the group contact Alys Nelson at (612) 599-5457.

Children, Youth and Family Ministry UpdatesWe are working on wrapping up our School Year Ministry with the Middle School ending in April, High School ending on May 5th and Children’s Ministry on May 19th.Summer is just around the corner, and we have plenty of opportunities for children and youth of ALL AGES.

If not, they are waiting for you to come and find something to enjoy.Are you aware of the “Little Free Library” box that is available for you & people passing by to take a book or two home to enjoy? It is located on the West Broadway side of the church. The books in the library are all donated, but unfortunately our supply is running low & we would appreciate it if anyone would like to help us replenish our inventory. Please consider donating children’s books, fiction & biographies in good condition that adults & children would like to read. They may be brought to the library or left in the church office. Thank you for your support!Are you looking for a volunteer job that doesn’t require a lot of your time & effort? If so, please consider joining the Library Team! One can do as much or as little as you wish, and have time for. Several of our team members are no longer with us & we need some more help!
