Dear Prince of Peace Community, it’s time to move Faithfully Forward.
A few weeks ago we held a congregational meeting to discuss the future of Prince of Peace. At the start, we asked those gathered to share a word or two that defined POP for them. The list was beautiful and varied, but the primary themes that floated to the top were community, relationships, and family. It was so heartening to see that these are the words we have in common and that our relationships with each other through this place matter the most.
Over 65 years, we have seen firsthand the powerful impact of your commitment and generosity to the community we value. We honor the past and current members who have made Prince of Peace what it is today. We are here due to the generosity of those who have helped support our congregation through their time, talent, and financial resources. These contributions have allowed us to create vibrant and engaging worship, to reach out to and care for those in need, to support our ministry to youth and children, and to make a welcoming community for everyone who walks through our doors. We’ve shared many milestones, and each one has been a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose.
While our mission to grow deep and reach out remains as important as ever, we find ourselves in a difficult financial position. The staff and leaders have been faithful stewards of the resources they have been given, monthly underspending their budgets and regularly offering creative alternatives to spending. Despite that, our overall giving is significantly less than needed to maintain our current staffing and building needs.
As the leadership of this congregation, we are asking you to prayerfully consider how you can contribute to the present and future needs of this community. Our goal this stewardship season is to raise $30,000 for our immediate/building needs, and for every household to make a 10-15% increase in their giving for the sake of our future. This is a big goal, but we know our community can step up when it matters, and this is that time.
Thank you for being an essential part of Prince of Peace. Your faith, your presence, and your generosity are what make this church the beloved community so many of you spoke of in our recent meeting. This stewardship campaign will allow us to ensure that Prince of Peace will be here for another 65 years and beyond so we can continue to “Grow Deep and Reach Out” for the sake of the Gospel in the world.
With gratitude and hope,
POP Council, Pr Chad, and Pr Natalia
