Exec Team Meeting Minutes June 2019

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Executive Committee Virtual Meeting Notes: June will not consist of meeting minutes, but only of reports submitted by the executive team. This is due to the lack of in-person meeting.

Lynn’s Report:

When I attend church, I always observe how things are going. It is very important to me that things run
smoothly and that people are happy to be at church. I am sure that you would all agree that there is high
energy at church on Sunday mornings. People appear to be truly happy to be at church and to be visiting
with people from their church family. I have been seeing some new connections forming which is great.
Thanks to all of the great volunteers who work various jobs to make Prince of Peace an inviting place.
The door holders, the ushers, the cookie and lemonade hosts, the leaders etc. They all serve so joyfully.
THANK YOU! I challenge everyone to reach out and meet one new person per week.
The ecumenical service the beginning of June was fun, moving and inspirational. How fun to hear from
the two pastors. The food was great and what a privilege it was to break bread together. We take so
much for granted in the US. Hearing their stories makes us even more grateful for what we have. How
blessed we are to have them and their church worship in our space. I am hoping we can combine
services and activities in the future. We are having a women’s retreat in October. We can invite ladies
from their congregations to join us. This is another great example of how Prince of Peace lives up to
their motto of Growing Deep and Reaching Out.
We continue to work on the budget. With prayer and steady giving, we will continue to strive to balance
the budget.
When I left church today, I was reminded of my favorite Bible verse as it is on green cloth in the front of
the church.
“Love one another just as I have loved you”. What a great reminder. It seems so simple but sometimes
we all need a reminder.
