PASTORAL REPORTS:

Pastor Chad’s Report – none

Pastor Natalia’s Report –

As we cruise Holy Week and Easter, I am so thankful for our team and the various ways we have all stepped into Lent and made it work for our community. Our Holy Week schedule looks like this:

April 2 – Palm Sunday worship 9:30am

April 6 – Maundy Thursday worship 6:30pm

April 7 – Good Friday worship 6:30pm (Seven Last Words)

April 9 – Easter Sunday worship 9:30am (one service, discuss in council meeting)

The office will be closed April 10.

Along with the Care Team, I’m hosting a funeral planning event on April 5th, at 6:30pm. So often people sit with us in the fog of grief and don’t know what to do or how to do anything, so we thought it might be helpful for people to know some of the processes and planning tools well ahead of needing it. We will be partnering with our friends at Gearty Delmore that night as well so hopefully we have some people attend.

For your information as POP leader, the current pastoral schedule looks like:

Week of March 6-12 – Natalia off

Week of March 13-19 – Chad off

Week of March 20-26 – both on

Week of March 27-April 2 – both on

Week of April 3-9 – both on

Week of April 10-16 – both on

Week of April 17-23 – Chad off

Week of April 24-30 – Natalia off

* “off” weeks mean we are not working, including Sunday.

Also, please note that there will be one day (March 20th) this month where there is no pastoral coverage, as Chad is traveling back to MN and I am on vacation. The office staff is aware of this gap and will handle it.

I am still planning my sabbatical, which will be from mid-May to mid-August. It is our current plan to have Pastor Angela Denker sub in preaching twice a month and be on call during Chad’s off weeks and vacation. Please let me or Pastor Chad know if there are any questions about this.

Jodi to work with LSS on setting a date.

2023 Outreach Event Calendar

  • • We roughed out the Outreach calendar for the rest of the year. We’ll continue to add dates and refine as the year progresses.
  • • FYI – There are a couple of Spring events we have historically participated in that we won’t be doing this spring. o Park Brook is not planning to include a family meal with their Spring music concert. In the past we have often either provided the food or helped serve.
  • o Memorial Blood Centers is managing when and where they hold blood drives due to limited staffing. So, we are not holding a Prince of Peace blood drive this spring. Instead, anyone interested in giving blood can check with Memorial Blood Centers on the time and location of upcoming events.
