Life Events
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
We have complete trust in God and Their promises and it is with that trust we celebrate events throughout our life as children of God.
Baptism
You can schedule a baptism by contacting Katie in the church office. Parents of small children are required to meet with the Pastor to review the commitments for baptism, for the first child baptized at Prince of Peace. We believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. If you have been baptized in any Christian church, your baptism is honored and accepted in a Lutheran church!
Baptism Classes are as needed
Holy Communion
Communion Milestone Event – Our Communion Milestone event occurs in the 5th Grade and is a two-part event. The class/discussion is held before Maundy Thursday with the receiving of Communion happening on Maundy Thursday.
Contact Katie for more information on The Communion Milestone Event.
Due to the Pandemic, this Milestone is currently extended for any 5th-8th grader who has not yet participated.
Confirmation
this rite of passage is also referred to as an “Affirmation of Baptism.” Confirmation marks the end of a season of study and instruction in the Christian faith as confessed in the teachings of the Lutheran Church. Confirmation is a public profession of the faith into which someone has been baptized, thus reinforcing and underscoring God’s divine action in their Baptism. Contact Katie for additional information.
Weddings
Weddings for members can be scheduled by contacting The Church Office. We strongly recommend pre-marital counseling and meetings with the presiding pastor prior to the wedding itself. Prince of Peace also has a wedding coordinator who will work with you on the details of your very special day!
Funerals
When there is a death, please contact The Church Office in the church office as quickly as possible so that arrangements can be made for you. Additional details are available in the office. We have a team of pastors and lay leaders available if you need CARE.
