“I thank my God every time I remember you.”
We Need Each Other

This past Sunday we were honored to have Rev Dr Bishop Frederick Shoo with us in worship. Dr Shoo is the presiding Bishop of the 6.5 million member Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. What a message he blessed us with!
There are a lot of things out in the world vying for your attention this week, I know.
But please take the time to listen to his message and be reminded that our partnership with the global church is making a difference – YOU are making a difference – especially through our connections in Tanzania. Listen to Dr Shoo talk about what we have done in the lives of the people in his community, simply by sharing our lives with each other.
Lastly, I want to lift up his words about why our two communities of faith, as different as they may be, need each other.
This needs to be said, heard and taken to heart.
We have a lot of reasons to look around at each other and see only the things that divide and separate us.
But we need each other.
Dr Shoo said that “we are not complete without each other.”
Think about this. Let it settle.
When we don’t open ourselves to others around us, we are missing out on the fullness of God that is possible.
We need each other.
Through each other we meet God in new ways that helps us grow in faith and love.
So take a listen to his words. Hear how our community of faith is so much larger and more beautiful than we realize.
And then open your eyes and hearts – and jump in.
One of the ways Dr Shoo lifted up our partnership is through our Vision Trips. He said “you took the first steps to come to us” and then look what happened.
