The Position: 

This part-time position (12hrs wk) is responsible to the Senior Pastor for administering the business affairs of the church, working with members and staff to achieve the objectives of the church.
Responsibilities include overall direction for the daily management of the church finances and facilities. The coordination of all accounting, facilities, maintenance, operations, purchasing, and the church’s accounting software. Must maintain discretion and confidentiality as the Church Administrator often works with highly confidential information.

Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for the accounting and management of the church finances and facilities.
  • Sees to the maintenance of all office equipment and computer systems.
  • Maintains personnel records.
  • Assures the church’s compliance with federal and state labor laws.
Financial Management 
  • Oversees the church Finances in the receipt, deposit, and disbursement of all church funds.
  • Oversees the purchasing process and maintains vendor relationships.
  • Oversees the preparation of financial reports to the church council.
  • Oversees the administering of the payroll and benefits for church employees.
  • Assures all tax reports are promptly paid and timely filed.
Properties Management 
  • Works with Office Administrator and ministry staff to develop and administer policies and procedures concerning the use of all church properties, and facilities.
  • Evaluates periodically the insurance needs of the church.
  • Oversees the security of the church.
  • Maintains an inventory of church property and equipment.
General 
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings as needed and occasional committee meetings as requested.
  • Facilitates the organization of volunteer help as needed.
  • Works with the Office Administrator to keep congregational membership records up to date.
Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and administer policies and procedures concerning the use of all church properties, and facilities.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including word processing, electronic communication software, membership software, and financial reporting and accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Is able to prioritize and multi-task, using good time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality as the Church administrator often works with confidential information.
