“Blessed are we who ask You for wisdom, show us what to turn from, what to set aside.
come Lord, that we might see You, move with You, keep pace with You.”
-Kate Bowler, excerpt from A Blessing for a chaotic season.
Greetings from the Prince of Peace Executive Team:
By this time, you have probably read the letter from Pastor Chad announcing his retirement. We want to acknowledge the anxieties and questions that this announcement might bring. Change is hard, but change is a reality in life. We are here to navigate this change with you and find the best solutions for the vision and ministry of Prince of Peace.
Pastor Chad has blessed POP with over 13 years of ministry. We are grateful for what he has brought to POP and celebrate his 30-year career in ministry throughout the church.
The council will be preparing a transition team. This team will lead us in praying and planning the path that will be most fruitful for the vision of POP. One of the first opportunities for congregational discernment will start with a town hall-style meeting on August 25, at 10:45. The town hall will provide an opportunity for you to ask questions and offer your dreams and visions for POP and the transition team will discuss the process and timeline for this transition.
We encourage you to come or at least send one representative from each family to hear the discussion at these meetings. Notes from the meeting will be posted afterward, but in-person attendance will give you the greatest opportunity to participate in this process.
During the next several months, we ask these things of you:
- Please be patient as we are working through this transition
- Allow the staff and teams time for prayer and discernment
- Stick with us and, ask questions
- Share with us your vision for POP in the future.
- Join us at the town hall on August 25
The more information we can gather the more we can draw a complete vision for what we want to see at POP and use our creativity to create a bright future for POP. Churches all over the country and world go through staffing transitions and they make it through, and we will make it through this as well. Please join us on August 25, we look forward to hearing from you.
Blessings,
POP Council Executive Team
