Connect & Care

We seek to build a solid foundation for ministry by being proper stewards of God’s people. We strive to grow servant hearts and connect people with their desire to belong to and support the mission of God as we live it out.

Befrienders is a lay pastoral care program supported by in-depth training.  Befriender’s visit people of various ages with diverse needs, backgrounds and situations as they provide a caring listening presence for those in need. Befrienders listen with compassion, accept people as they are, respect others’ spiritual journeys and embody the caring presence of God. Contact Pastor Jim for more information on the Befriender ministry or for training opportunities.

Bulletin Stuffers – we gather every Friday morning at 8:30 am to assemble the Sunday bulletins and enjoy coffee and cookies.

Communion Setup Team – We prepare the Altar on Communion Sundays with the bread and wine for the Holy Meal and we welcome new team members! This is a great way for families to serve together and it doesn’t take much time. Contact the church office for more information.

Prayer Group – Everyone needs prayer. Contact the church office if you would like to be part of the prayer chain at Prince of Peace.

New Member Gatherings – It’s fun to get to know the new folks who are becoming members at Prince of Peace. We invite you to get involved providing building tours and ministry information.

Memorial Luncheons – There is a team of dedicated members who serve in the kitchen for memorial luncheons. They order and prepare the meal for the bereaved family and friends. If you enjoy cooking and serving, let us know.

Office volunteers – Handle phone calls, welcome visitors and provide assistance on a variety of projects.

Prayer Shawl Ministry – meets twice a month and members make beautiful prayer shawls for members who are hospitalized or sick or simply need encouragement.

Quilters – meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month and create lovely quilts!

Retired Work Group – Men provide a little TLC to the building and the grounds on the first Wednesday of each month. Come around 9 am.

Worship Enhancement Team – This team helps make the Welcome Center and the Worship Center welcoming with seasonal flare and helpful information. We meet periodically and would love to have a few more involved in this area. Contact the church office for information.

Worship Experience Teams – Join a team and serve during worship one Sunday each month from September through May! Families can serve together as ushers, greeters, readers, communion servers or coffee hosts.
