WHAT IS AXIS?

Axis is our Confirmation program here at Prince of Peace. It is open to all students in grades 7 through 9. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 7:45pm, October through April!

We believe that relationships are the foundation for any Journey of Faith, and we focus on those essential relationships while learning the basics of what it means to be people of faith. We meet in small groups for over half of our time together, and the other part is spent learning in a large group.

THE GOAL OF AXIS

What does the Lord call us to do but love Him and love others?  In this thought, Axis has one goal – teach students about Christ, and let them find the presence of God in their own life.

Axis is not about a lecture, or another class, but a chance for students to question, learn and apply the teachings of God to their daily lives.  But we understand that our wonderful teaching will not always be the reason students come on Wednesday nights.  Most students will continue to come to church long after Axis because of the relationships they have built here.  The hope of our Axis here at Prince of Peace is that at the end, not only will each student have a solid community of believers surrounding them, but that each student can stand up and tell God and their community exactly what they believe on their own, to take responsibility for their faith – and to be Confirmed as believers in the Body of Christ.
